Additional Seminars Available
This event also has five seminars for high school students. Students can choose three.
The Role Social Media Plays in Getting a Job: In this seminar, students will learn how employers are checking their various social media accounts to learn more about them as a job candidate. Students will learn about inappropriate posts and how that affects their job prospects.
Tuition Reimbursement & Scholarships: Students in this seminar will learn which local employers offer tuition reimbursement and other scholarships that are available in the community and where to find them. Participants will learn how to apply for scholarships.
Meeting Employer Expectations: This seminar will show participants what soft skills employers expect of employees as soon as they’re hired. It also will show students where they can obtain and practice these skills if they are lacking.
Skilled Trades & Apprenticeships: The Jackson Area Manufacturer’s Association (JAMA) will discuss the jobs available in the skilled trades industries and which employers offer apprenticeships. Additionally, they will discuss the courses they offer for certification in their preferred trade/skill.
